Whaou it's getting more and more thrilling  ^-^

I agree it's certainly better to focus on the 1069in1 stuff. Anyway i have a
465in1 handy and i think it's of interest to make further investigations with this
one for at least two reasons: (i) would be of interest to have a look on the setup for vertical system board; (ii) to understand how the soft dog is working.

From this standpoint it may be possible to replace the cf and setup a hdd based version of the vertical configuration. I will try to use the tool you mentioned in order to read the CF.

Maniak, can you please give further details regarding the video stuff you were talking about ? Some pictures maybe of great help too  ^-

Looking forward to learn more  :-*

the video stuff?? you mean about plug it in to a monitor or the laser disc software im trying to write in to the system? oh you mean the boot video havent had a chance to look in to it yet was just looking at the mamewah system and thinking its probably based on the same software might just copy the video config section and post it in to the menu config just for a look see probably will. will look in to it hopfuly before the week end. working on my arcade cabinet atm getting it all restored before i move it to my house.

you wouldent have thought that i only got in to arcade machines 2 months ago never played with arcade machines till i brought this one have already stripped it rewired it sold all the guts the original neo geo  4 slot board and 16 carts for what i payed for it in the first place £200 pounds so got a free machine then brought the 1066 in 1 with the money i made from the guts and splashed out on set of new led buttons 2 joysticks and some vinal. mind you have been playing with mame since the begining always loved my classic games just never thought about doing this till i was board one day searching ebay

have put a quick help file with pictures in not fineshed but it's a start will be adding more pictures and screen grabs of adding stuff to the system.

will upload it to my server tommorow its a pdf file and post it on here but as i said its just a first draft if you dont under stand please ask an i will make changes will do more screen grabs as well tommorow and add them shortly so it all makes sence.

have tryed updating mame today under sakpoubel's instructions it sort of works the version of mame i install launches the rom Aladin(bootleg japan) but there is somthing screwie with the screen when it launches the screen splits in two and i get half pic on one side and half on the other so sakpoubel could you tell me what version mame your using so i can add it to get it fully functioning have used your code in my help file did give  you thanks for it.think i will try adding a diffrent rom to it just incase its trying to set the screen to secam other wise will keep changing versions of the software did get in to the dip switches and see if i could change video settings but to no joy and mame ini is set up to the right resolutions hmm.

been striping my control pannel today stripping down ready for paint and vinal tomorow then got to reinstal 18 buttons 2 joysticks there is a trackerball support too apparently might give it a try and see what happens think i saw a happ track ball on ebay fancy adding combat school track ball addition to the rom set but will have to see how big it is might not fit on my control pannel. a glowing one would be good to will go with my led buttons.

does any one know how to get mame to srink image on vertical games. will have a look at the dip switches tommrow and see if i can change it that way

just waiting on my m8 giving me his lazer disc set to borrow so i can give installing daphne a go think it will work using comand line entry to the system after looking at sakpoubel post i think you could set up a diffrent set for each rom as a comand line that wont be happening till ive got all the data going to keep adding to this help file so can have a full hack list on the system.

added 13 roms today with ease just waiting on my custom marquee to come back and new screen bezzel and my machine is nearly complete will post some picturs of it soon. still got to designe my side art for the cabinet.

right better get some shut eye as busy morning stripping painting and vinaling to do so i can reinstall the control pannel tommorow night getting game withdrawl symtoms as dident get my usal hr play after work as i had striped it all out in my lunch hour.

Well, report of the last works...

I managed to install some roms and launch them with a newly installed mame (0.123)

I also fixed the ugly streching for vertical games for having them like original orientation (rotation clockwize)

Still I have few probs...

1- I can't get the contols to save : might be fixed by the TEST MENU/SAVE CONFIG after editing the .bat

2- When mame loads it switches in VGA and so when it returns to the frontend it's on VGA... I don't know where to look as my mame.ini is set as the other mame.

Sure it helps :) Will go in more details next week-end (3 days off for easter will help). Jeston, would be nice if you were a bit more accurate on the way you fixed
the streching problem with vertical game!

Keep on the good work ;)

yeah ! I got this bitch  =:))

the problem of the resolution has now been fixed.

mame.ini
switch_res 0

that's all for the resolution probs

Some others infos that I could grab  :

NeoGeo roms are runs by FBA and Nebula (few hacks)
NeoGeo roms runs really slow using mame, that's why it uses FBA I think, we might try NeoRAGEX maybe... back to the basics :P

Sound Freq is 11025 instead of 44100

CPS3 runs really slowly on mame...(not really new)

CPS3emulator can not initialize video mode, or something like that...

That's all for now

POST EDITED, DUE TO LOTS OF BULLSHIT :-((

Hi dudes,

Just to let you know and confirm that the 465in1 CF is using a linux format. I have tried to access the CF with "explore2fs". The CF is recognized as "hdf1" but i am still unable to dispy the content of the CF.

I got an "access violation error". Any idea ?

In my opinion the data on the CF disk is probably encrypted, using a secured key on the usb dongle to live decrypt the data while playing with the 465in1.

Yep, that's probably the case, i have tried to use alternate tool like rfstool to access the content of the card and it also failed. The soft dog usb dongle might be the key of the problem  :-((

There might be a solution, if you'll be able to find a way to associate the dongle and the cf card using an appropriate software you might access the data.

Is'nt it any way to contact the manufacturer (of the 465in1) ?

I guess it's done on purpose to prevent people to alter the content of the system! This way the manufacturer is able to maintain his rent and to propose new cards that slightly differ from the previous one.

The usb dog is recognized under windows but it seems it requires specific drivers we do not have... damned  >:D

There's probably some way to exit the program to access the OS, anybody tried to hook up a keyboard on the system and try some keyboard shortcuts like alt+tab or anything like that ?
