Conexions PCB Sega Touring Car Championship

Salut a tous,

Premierment je voudrais m'excuser pour mon tres mauvais nivel de conaisances en regardant la langue Francais.
Je comprend francais, mais j'ai des seriuses problems en essayant de m'exprimer.

Cet aspect precisee, je voudrais aimablement s'il vous plaît demander l'aide pour connecter mon set Sega Touring Car Championship.

Je utilise un PSU PC ATX 435w, une supergun 24khz capable, un adapteur model2->jamma; sur la part de hw du jeu j'ai un filterboard model 2b, le set STCC et le DSB1 (+ le cable pour dsb1).

Quand j'essaye de booter le jeu, il afiche un ecran noir qu'il devient plus "light" apres un temps; pas de son aussi, je me refere a le son direct de la filterboard, je n'ai conecte pas la DSB1 au moment.

The PSU seem good. The DSB1 board isn't usefull for the moment.
One stuff is strange, STCC is Model 2C and you have a Model 2B filter board.

What about the video converter? Can you take some photos of it?

J'ai trouve que une filterboard pour model 2b, mais certains persones on dit qu'il va marchait.

Le adapteur est dans le supergun, mais au bas je include le liens du produit chez le boutique que je l'achete de.

Je devrais tenir compte du fait que le filterboard pourrait être "unapropriate".

J'ai trouvé une fltbd sur un site qui dit qu'il a ports de communication et des entrées analogiques et est adapté pour le STCC aussi (modèle 2b / c, se penche également différente).

Dans le cas où je ne reçois pas l'ensemble de démarrer bientôt je vais l'obtenir, bien que je preffer un qui fonctionne certainment (achat de 3 filterboards et le temps d'attente c'est pas joli...)

Je suis en attendant la réponse du vendeur, dans l'image ne ​​sont pas tous les connecteurs clairement visibles sur la filterboard.

Mon ami qui fait de réparations électroniques a promis de venir ce soir, je vais voir comment ça se passe.

Tout est prêt pour le raccordement du DSB1 (j'ai eu un pc câble d'extension IDE pouvoir qui je vais sacrifie).

Je vais poster les résultats plus tard.

My friend helped me, we connected on the model2->jamma adapter +5v and GND from an arcade PSU, pumped up the +5v a bit and it worked - the game having connected the pc atx psu in this time also (the pc atx only showed 4,5v at the jamma fingerboard).

We did not bother with the DSB1, because the filterboard i have has 4pin snd out connector, and the dsb1 on pcb set side has 5, the middle one being not connected, so there was no way.

Guess i need another filterboard.

I entered test menu, memory and t.g.p. tests were ok.

The video output is too bright, i managed to mess a bit with the "Clamp" option in the osd of the adapter but it either displays semi-fine with a curtain on the side (left or right) that if you adjust to the left or right it pumps up the luminosity (brightness).

Please have a look at the leds on the pcb, i wonder if they should be lit that way.


Coin, test and service responded, however start button did not (i only connected 16 pins out of 24 - there are 2 connectors on my model2-> jamma adapter so idk).


It seems i need a beefier psu (5v at 25+A???), and a new filterboard.

Petite mise à jour

J'ai acheté un filterboard approprié pour le STCC, selon le vendeur (Andrew Lewis aka Andy Geezer à Amusement Game Services), il est neuf et spécialement pour STCC/Indy500 et il a tous les connecteurs que j'ai besoin.

Petit bump sour le sujet dans le cas s'il vous plaît les gars peuvent partager votre connaissances, j'ai toujours le problèmes énumérés dans le dernier post.

Plus précisément, la sortie vidéo trop lumineuse, et les entrées (analogique et les boutons).

Grand mise à jour

J'ai obtenu un accord sur un bloc d'alimentation OCZ Powerstream ATX (potentiomètres réglables pour 5,12 V et 3,3 V) sur ebay; expédition était une fortune en raison du poids, mais la mise sous tension de l'unité sera facile maintenant (Big Panik a utilise cette PSU pour sa supergun model 2/3).

J'ai également pris l'ensemble pcb et le DSB1 à un centre de services informatiques pour un peu de clensing.

Dans d'autres nouvelles, je suis un peu inquiet -> l'filterboard je l'ai mentionné ci-dessus (le 2ème) est arrivé très bien, mais sur la partie de sortie audio, il dispose d'un connecteur à 4 broches, contrairement à ce que j'ai sur le câble pour la DSB1 PCB ensemble, qui est à 5 broches avec celle du milieu vide, donc un peu inquiet et confus ...

Sur le côté du boîtier convertisseur vidéo i obtiendrez probablement un convertisseur de scan appropriée - la Genius box de entreprises Mimo; beaucoup les coûts, mais je suppose que c'est la seule façon testee pour ces systèmes (ici encore inspiree par Big Panik) ...


Ceux-ci étant dit, je veux bien vouloir s'il vous plaît demander de l'aide (encore une fois , principalement:

- Comment puis-je faire face à la sortie audio (4 broches - 5pin)
- Lien vers un convertisseur de scan à meilleur prix
- Comment / où de relier les contrôles - chacun d'eux (analogique et numérique) (je vais regarder plus tard, les schémas)

First, have a look, now, to the wiring diagram.

1/ On the filter board, you have a 7 pins connector (MIDI) to connect the DSB1. DSB1 play in game music. The 4pins audio output is used for sound effects during the game.
Sound effects output (filter db) and music output (DSB1) are mixed with a specific board.

Less expensive and with potentiometers to fix your brightness problem.

I've identified on the schematics the controls; i will order the connectors and wire accordingly, seems this filterboard is exactly what i need.

I will update with boot on the new ATX PSU and image adjusted with potentiometers.

Tommorow i pick the boards up from cleansing, hope he did not destroy anything in the process...

Hello again,

After a long break i come back to this project; in the image attached i extracted from the manual the wiring connectors (should be all);
i ordered the connectors and pins for them, as well as an video converter 24khz compatible (should be original Gonbes latest model).


One thing remains obscured - but i think i will sort it out - namely the audio SFX output.

By that i mean that the filterboard on the sound output part it has a 4 pin connector, as opposed to what i have on the DSB1 cable for the

filterboard, which is 5 pin with the middle one empty... hopefully my friend that repairs electronics can figure it out.

Also, i don't see a ground pin on CN13 in the image - the JST NH 25P connector - maybe take it from other connector?

Well i guess first things first is powering on the unit and get video output, then worry about SFX/BGM and finally controls.

Any suggestions, as always, are hugely appreciated

I put on paper the design of what will be the "control box"; ordered illuminated pushbuttons for start/view change; will assemble the box soon with some help and display here the results; basically it is a plastic enclosure with front and back panel; video converter will go inside also.

Hello,

DSB1 is connected to MIDI connector.
DSB1 sound output connector is mixed with the CN5 connector with a little board.

CN13 TX0-8 and also RX0-8 (used for the Force feedback) used common ground from the PSU.

Include 4 view buttons in your control box, to be compatible with more games...

Je voulais vous demander si vous êtes sûr à 100% que j'ai besoin d'une autre pcb mini pour le mixage du son de la musique, sur l'autre forum où je poste RetroRepair a dit ceci:

The DSB isn't needed to boot the game, but it does mix the game audio with the game music and outputs that to the amp in the cabinet.

Btw, the images on the DSB side connect to the DSB obviously. On the PCB side, you have audio out and midi out.

PCB sound effects and DSB1 musics are mixed with the Audio Mixer Board 839-0542:

I found the audio mix board you mentioned in the manual, then looking at the schematics i found it in there; i colored a bit the schematics to make more sense to me.

Green is the Midi connector on the filterboard,
Yellow the DSB1
Red the Mix Board
and Brown the audio out on the filterboard.

So from what i see:

Midi goes to DSB1 directly,
Audio to the Mix BD directly,
5 pin on DSB1 to Mix BD and
The 4 pin output of the Mix BD goes to amp bd.;


So practically, the DSB1 "converts" the MIDI signals to pure audio then mixes them on the mix bd with the SFX from the filterboard.

That means that for my 2 pictures, with connectors on the DSB1 side and PCB side, first:



On DSB side:

The black connector is for power,
7 pin for midi
5 pin for 5 pin socket on dsb

On the "PCB" side

The red-yellow-white wires go to 12v,5v,GND
The 5 pin connector goes into the mix BD
and the 7 pin connector in the MIDI socket on the filterboard.

It makes a ton of sense now!
